FOUNDATIONAL SCRIPTURE

Ephesians 4:12–13

“…to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, becoming mature, attaining the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”

What do we believe about the Bible?

We believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God. The Bible alone is the final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and Christian living.
(2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25–26)

Do we believe in the Trinity?

Yes. We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are coequal, coeternal, and one in essence.
(Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16–17; Matthew 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; 1 John 5:7)

Who is Jesus Christ according to our beliefs?

We believe that Jesus Christ is God the Son, fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross as a substitute for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will return again in power and glory.
(John 1:1, 14; John 20:28; Philippians 2:5–6; 1 Timothy 3:16)

Do we believe in the virgin birth of Jesus?

Yes. We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, confirming that He is the Son of God.
(Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18, 23–25; Luke 1:27–35)

What do we believe about sin and humanity?

We believe that humanity was created good but fell into sin through voluntary disobedience. Because of sin, mankind needs redemption, which is found only through Jesus Christ.
(Genesis 1:26–31; Genesis 3:1–7; Romans 5:12–21)

How is a person saved?

We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone. Salvation is a gift from God and cannot be earned through good works or human effort.
(Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10; Acts 16:31; Titus 3:5)

What is repentance?

Repentance is a turning away from sin and turning toward God. Through repentance, we receive forgiveness of sins and experience new life through the work of the Holy Spirit.
(Acts 2:21; Acts 3:19; 1 John 1:9)

What does sanctification mean?

Sanctification is the ongoing process of spiritual growth by which believers are transformed into the likeness of Christ through obedience to God’s Word and the power of the Holy Spirit.
(1 Thessalonians 4:3; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Romans 12:1–2)

Why is the blood of Jesus important?

We believe the blood of Jesus Christ is fully sufficient to cleanse all sin. Through His sacrifice, believers are freed from the penalty of sin, which is death, and reconciled to God.
(1 John 1:7; Romans 5:9; Colossians 1:20; John 1:29)

What do we believe about the Holy Spirit?

We believe in the active, present-day ministry of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit dwells in every believer, empowering, comforting, guiding, and transforming them to live a Christ-centered life. We believe in spiritual gifts and creating space for the Holy Spirit to lead in worship, prayer, and ministry.
(Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9–11; 1 Corinthians 3:16; John 14:17)

What is the Church according to our beliefs?

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, made up of all believers. The Church exists to glorify God, make disciples, and fulfill the Great Commission through unity in Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.
(Ephesians 1:22–23; Ephesians 2:19–22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:20–23)
